Culinary affection is something you can only get a grasp of when it happens to you. It is that moment when you take a bite of a pastry and remember your grandmother's old proverbs, it is buying fresh mint at the grocery store and remembering picking it from the garden at your old childhood home, it is cooking a meal that eases the air of life’s worries to let everyone sink back in their chair and laugh a little harder. Culinary affection is nostalgia, creative curiosity, romance, and the feeling you are home.

Introducing the Foodies: Sonam & Neal

We have had a love for food ever since we can remember…with our mothers creating magic in the kitchen, our palates stay awoke and craved spice and flavor. In September of 2015, in Minneapolis, Neal and I began dating. One of the fondest memories I have from that time is Neal cooking a multiple course Indian meal from scratch for our second date. My jaw dropped and in that moment I knew that I would marry this man. Three months into our relationship, the spontaneity of life took charge and we brought home a 3-lb Yorkie Poo puppy (aka Furbaby). We named him Nashu (pronounced Nuh-shoo) after Nasha, the name of the dance event we had met at. Last September, we tied the knot and moved to San Francisco Bay Area— a foodie’s paradise.
