15-Minute Strawberry Basil Lemonade

15-Minute Strawberry Basil Lemonade

Nothing says summer quite like a chilled glass of lemonade to beat the heat! Since we always have a crazy amount of fruit in the fridge during this season, we thought to put it to good use! This very simple recipe will have you abandoning the lemonade pulp or that powder stuff forever. All you need is a few fresh ingredients and you're on your way to bliss...

15-Minute Strawberry Basil Lemonade

Prep time: 15 min.

Yield: 4-6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 c sugar
  • 6.5 c water
  • 2 c Strawberries (Save 0.5 cup for garnish)
  • 4 Lemons
  • 3 large leaves fresh basil, minced

Directions

  1. First, make a simple syrup by adding the sugar and 1.5 cups of water into a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk for few minutes until the sugar completely dissolves and remove from heat.
  2. Slice and hull the strawberries while saving about half of a cup for garnish. Add the strawberries, large basil leaves, and simple syrup into the blender. Blend until strawberries form a juice!
  3. Squeeze fresh lemon juice (and strain pulp if desired) and add into the blender. Finish by mixing in 5 cups of water. Serve chilled over ice and enjoy.
