Allis at the Soho House: Chicago Eats Edition
One of the most exciting parts of weekend getaways is brunching in different cities! We settled on Allis at the Soho House in West Loop neighborhood of downtown Chicago. Immediately, we were mesmerized by the rustic boutique ambiance. This multi-level venue boasts floor to ceiling windows making my task of food photography seamless with all of the natural sunlight! They also offer outdoor street seating for that extra Vitamin D and high tea in addition to all meals. With our group of seven, we were still able to snag an earlier reservation the day before and receive some comfy couch seating.
Our server started off by clarifying any allergies or food preferences which is a small gesture that goes a long way. Depending on our restrictions, he then provided customized recommendations! The only challenge I found was eating my Shakshuka on the sofa without making a mess of myself, which I suppose is also a personal problem ;) Therefore, I would recommend sofa seating if you are doing cocktails or something more simple to devour like burgers.
All in all, we enjoyed our meal and service at Allis. My only regret is not photographing more of the whimsical interior! That will be for next time, but if you are a Chicago native---Allis is a must!
